JATV Receives 13 Awards at State Video Festival

At the 13th Annual Wisconsin Association for PEG (Public, Education & Government) Channels Video Festival, Janesville’s public access channel, JATV, will receive 13 awards for programs broadcast in 2010. The WAPC Spring Conference and Video Festival will be held May 5 & 6.

Three levels of awards, Merit, Achievement, and Excellent (think bronze, silver & gold, respectively) will be presented. Over 120 entries were submitted from 22 Wisconsin communities..

Video clips of JATV’s award-winning videos can be found at www.youtube.com/user/jatvmedia. Watch for Award-Winning Week on JATV beginning Monday, April 25, 2011. All of the award winning programs listed below will be broadcast on Charter cable channels 98 and 994, as well as streaming on-line at www.jatv.org.

The following producers will receive a Merit Award for their entries:

Mike Rogers & Mike Collins for “How to Appreciate Roller Derby,” in the Category of How to/Instructional..

Yuri Rashkin & Dave Haldiman for “Discover Janesville,” in the Category of Talk Show.

The following producers will receive the next highest award, Achievement for their entries:

Duane Brewer, and the Bel Cats for “2010 Main Street Entertainment: The Bel Cats,” in the Category of Entertainment.

John Ash, Mark Meddaugh, Bryan McCormick, Mike Collins, Mike Rogers, & Duane Brewer for “La Cuisine du Garage – Literacy Connection Fundraiser,” in the Category of How To/ Instructional.

Mike Collins, Mike Rogers, & Duane Brewer for “Bart Starr Plaque Dedication” in the Category of Local Events.

Mike Collins and Duane Brewer for “United Way’s Doc’s Who Rock, Part 1,” in the Category of Entertainment.

Mike Rogers, Mike Collins,& Duane Brewer for “United Arts Alliance Summer Acoustic Series Show #3 with Bethany Conway” in the Category of Entertainment.

Mike Rogers & Duane Brewer for “2010 Alzheimer’s Support Center Dancing with the Stars Fundraiser,” in the Category of Entertainment.

Mike Rogers & Duane Brewer for “Rock County Historical Society presents Rob Tomaro Jazz Trio, Part 1,” in the Category of Entertainment.

Mike Rogers, Mike Collins, Rodney Patnoe, & Duane Brewer for “The Dots: Live at Hammy’s,” in the Category of Entertainment.

Linda & Jerry Schalk, Mike Rogers, Mike Collins, & Duane Brewer for “What the Bleep Is DOTR?,” in the Category of Documentary/Feature.

The highest award, Excellent, will go to the following producers for their entries.

Mike Collins, Scott Stenten, Mike Rogers, Brent Norling, Ryan Dooley, Matt Nelson, Michael Stalsberg, & Duane Brewer for “Community Concert: Scott Stenten,” in the Category of Documentary/Feature.

John Ash, Mark Meddaugh, Bryan McCormick, Mike Collins, Mike Rogers, & Duane Brewer for “La Cuisine du Garage – Literacy Connection Fundraiser,” in the Category of Local Events.
